Scenic Splendor
Perched on the bluffs overlooking the ocean, this Palos Verdes home, although stately and beautiful, was monochromatic and rather humdrum. Phil Norman brought out its full potential, creating a magnificent home now worthy of its splendid scenic surroundings.
Phil transformed the expansive foyer into a softer space by staining the oak staircase a warm walnut and incorporating plants, window coverings and custom furnishings to diminish the echo of the vast entry way. Rich hues, custom upholstery and striking details such as an Old World map painted on the ceiling morphed a sterile study into a fine place to share a cigar and a sip of brandy. Plantation shutters and a custom headboard add dimension to the guest retreat while custom hand-screened wallpaper and a custom-designed mirror add rich texture to the powder room.
