Styling an elegant bar with our principal, Phil No

Styling an elegant bar with our principal, Phil Norman! We often get to design beautiful elegant bars for entertaining in our clients home - this was no exception! For this bar we painted existing cabinetry with a high gloss lacquer and a deep teal color. We added all new counter tops of beautiful Italian marble, satin brass, and architectural hardware. We included a suspended uplit shelf for liquor display, adorned with some of the clients favorite old Hollywood black and white photos. Styling a gentlemen’s bar for entertaining is one of Phil’s favorite things to do as it gathers people together, influences great conversation, and helps maintain relationships!

Many of our projects involve new construction and the evolution of Old to New. With this transition, we often desire finishes and techniques that bring a connection to the past. As I was walking the job site yesterday, checking on progress ,I caught a glimpse of our landscaping starting to mature and the stonework we detailed. The rubbled dry stack technique provides the “old” as you stroll through the beautiful garden .

The last of our Lake Arrowhead project, focusing on the bedrooms of the home. Dreamy texture wallcovering, layered linen bedding, and soft pallet. The primary bathroom is an escape of comfort with a soothing tub, warm wood mirrors, and a beautiful mosaic heated floor for those chilly mornings. Additionally, in the kids’ rooms we set up a pair of matching twin beds that will promote many childhood memories of staying up late with flashlights at the weekend getaways in Lake Arrowhead.

Just off the Entry to our Lake Arrowhead Home, you can hang a right and head down to the Rec Room with options to grab a drink at our bar, shoot some pool or lounge on our cozy sectional. What we love about the Recreation Room: custom stained wood paneling, framed cane panels on face of bar, repurposed art from the original cabin, unique light fixtures, beautiful flat weave rug from Morocco and the laughter you can hear flow from this level and infiltrate the rest of the house. What you can’t see is the adjacency of the bar to the boat and dock so you can watch family and friends come in from the lake after a fun filled day. Greeting them with a summer cocktail of course!
